Roberto Ugolini

After spending two days at the Fashion fair Pitti Oumo, in Florence, Italy, we decided to dedicate a day to visit some of the local Craftsmen as well. Our first stop was at shoemaker Roberto Ugolini.

Roberto Ugolini
Mr. Ugolini runs his own lovely little workshop in the heart of Florence, where he makes spetacular bespoke shoes by hand .
He turned out to be a  nice guy, easy to talk to, curious and very passionate about his trade. We spend an hour talking about ways of shoemaking and he carefully showed us how he works .

After discussing the look of your coming shoe, he shapes the last from the measures of your feet .

Then he makes a model of the shoe in a substitute leather, that you try on .

After the fitting he is ready to make the real shoe.

Bespoke shoes made by Roberto Ugolini starts at 1.100€  , which seems to be much cheaper than many of his collegues in the trade . When I asked him how that was possible, he explained that he prefer a lower profit and a lot of costumers than the other way around .

I dearly recomend a visit to his workshop at Via Michelozzi 17r  50125 Florence ,Italy .

Please note that all questions regarding pricing and appointments should be made directly to Mr.Ugulini to himself through the webside :
